Economist David Ndiii may have been under instruction from opposition leader Raila Odinga in his recent remarks about a possible secession in the country.
In one of the most intriguing moments, Ndii, who partly works as adviser to opposition NASA, defiantly drafted a petition that if goes through, will see Kenya split into two states.
And analyst Gideon Mamboleo says Ndii could have been under Odinga’s instruction to evoke a debate that has momentarily swayed post election debate.
“He is a senior NASA advisor and I am sure he was under instruction from Odinga. They might have been speaking from the same script,” he says.
The renowned political scientist adds: “It is not unconstitutional though to speak about secession as long as there is no violence. That is the bottom line and it is a serious debate.”
In his offensive tweet, Ndii argued that oppression in the country should be solved in a self- determination case that would be determined by the international community.
He accused the country of overseeing ‘electoral fraud’ for many years adding that he was ready to lead a revolution.
