Residents of Ndumberi will now enjoy the services of a community radio station that will soon be launched in the area.
The station by the name Ndumberi Mashinani FM will cover a radius of 40km.
George Mwenja, who pioneered the community radio project said the station will help highlight challenges experienced by the locals.
He said that the Kikuyu culture was slowly eroding and that the station would take up the task of propagating the community's cultural values to the young generation.
Mwenja who spoke to this writer at Ndumberi on Friday said the project was successful through the help of friends from the United Kingdom and the station will broadcast in Kiswahili and Kikuyu.
A section of area residents has welcomed the launch of the station that is the first one of its kind in the area. Those who spoke to this writer said that they will use it to air the casual and funeral announcements.
