Ndumberi Member of County Assembly (MCA) Ngugi Uiru has urged the police to step up security, days after a body of a 60 year old woman was found dumped in the area.

Ngugi on Saturday said that security was deteriorating in the area, and its worrying the locals.

“Security enforcers must step up security mechanisms and guarantee safety of our people and their property,” he said.

The MCA further noted that police have the responsibility to guarantee security of every citizen.

Moses Kirema, a boda boda operator in Ndumberi said that crime was slowly ‘coming’ back.

“Criminals are back and are causing as sleepless nights,” he claimed adding that most of the crimes are committed by young people.

The locals want more police officers to conduct more security checks to keep the criminals at bay.

On Wednesday last week, a body of a 60 year old woman as found dumped at the Ndumberi trading center, and according to witnesses, the woman was raped and later killed by unknown people.

Confirming the incident, Kiambu OCPD SSP Stephen Ng’etich said that investigations are on.
