Following the unexpected resignation of Githu Muigai as the Attorney General earlier this week, Ndumberi location residents in Kiambu County have reacted.
The locals led by a leading businessman from Ndumberi trading centre, Joash Wanyoike have said AG's exit was a shock to them.
"We were left wondering after Githu Muigai resigned. We don't know what is happening in government circles," Wanyoike said.
He said Githu was a senior officer in the government from the region who should have served until the end of his term.
"Githu resigned prematurely. We need to know what exactly pushed him to quit," he added.
Ndumberi MCA Kamaguru Kimani urged President Uhuru not to forget the people from the region now that Githu has exited.
"Uhuru should not forget us now that Githu has resigned. We have qualified people from this area who could have been appointed to replace him," said the MCA.
He added that the government could have explained why he exited instead of leaving them with 'more questions than answers'.
The residents were speaking to a local radio station at Ndumberi trading centre on Saturday.
