Addressing the press from his office yesterday Principal Erastus Ondieki said his school was burnt when students were entertaining themselves at the dining hall while teachers were busy preparing end term report cards.

He appealed for help saying that most affected students come from humble backgrounds and need urgent help to buy what they had lost before the commencement of the third term.

“Currently, we have a temporary dormitory and am sure most of the students are suffering during the night as it is cold and during the day it's so hot hence risking their health,” said Ondieki.

He called upon the County Government of Kisii, the Ministry of Education, businessmen and the local community to pull their resources together and assist the school to put up a new dormitory.

He said the cost of putting up a new dormitory is approximately Sh3 million as per estimates by the Ministry of Public Works.

However, he dismissed claims made that the students had burnt down the dormitory in retaliation against the school management after being forced to pay outlawed tuition amounting to Sh3,000.
