Orphaned children and children from poor backgrounds in Kitutu-Masaba, Nyamira County have got every reason to smile after Victor Swanya Educational Foundation offered them sponsorship to secondary schools.
The Foundation paid Sh203,000 as the first term school fees payment for 17 children.
Speaking in Kiendege Primary School’s grounds, Kemera Ward when he gave out the money to the children, the the Foundation Chairman Victor Swanya Ogeto’s wife Janet Nyanduko said that 27 children sent applications to be sponsored but they were not able to help all of them.
Nyanduko called on leaders and well-wishers to join hands and help the other 10 who did not manage to get the sponsorship to join secondary schools.
“I am here to give out cheques to children who are set to join form one and whom we are sponsoring as a Foundation.
The 17 children, who come from at least every Ward, will go to school without any fees problem since we have issued total of Sh203,000 for their fees,” said Nyanduko noting that the children were referred to them by churches.
Parents and guardians to the beneficiaries thanked the Foundation for helping them raise school fees.
