Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a said 1849 students will benefit from the funds from Thika Constituency Development Fund bursary kitty and Thika Education Trust Fund.

Speaking on Friday at Thika Stadium while distributing the funds, Ms Ng’ang’a noted that the bursary has helped improve education standard in Kiambu County and particularly Thika Sub County where beneficiaries are learning without fear of being sent home for school fees.

She said that she is only a patron of Thika Education Trust Fund and expects the next MP to also spearhead the development of education in the area.

Ng’ang’a said she has distanced herself from the leadership of the education committee as she will not be in power all her life and she wishes the education project to go on even after she is out of power.

She further noted that the project will not stop as she is willing to commit all her might and solicit resources from her friends and politicians to help raise the education sector in the constituency.

The Thika Education Trust Fund has been supporting needy students from Thika Constituency.
