The students will be sponsored by the area Member of Parliament Moses Kuria in the Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) courtesy of Gatundu South Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The TNA legislator Kuria who was speaking on Tuesday at the Gatundu town said that the students will benefit under the program until the completion of their respective courses as the classes commence on Wednesday 13th of May.

The MP added that the sponsorship only favored the needy bright students who performed well in their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) and could not raise fees to cater for their tertiary education.

“We only fished out needy but bright students in the sub county with the help of Nyumba Kumi leaders and elders in the society especially those who performed well in their KCSE examination but have not joined the college,” said Kuria.

He said that the program if well supported by the well wishers, every year under the CDF money with partners, they will be sponsoring atleast 100 students into the college to further their career in line with vision 2030.

The law maker has congratulated the vetting team which he said had done a good job. The procedure was burdensome bearing in mind thousands of applicants submitted their application forms and interviewing individuals had proven to be bulky.

He further extended his gratitude to the county government of Kiambu under education ministry for their support in validating the dreams of the Gatundu South needy students.
