Four brothers have been arrested in Kaburetwa village in Trans Nzoia County after they allegedly killed their uncle who made a coffin for their deceased father.
Saboti Deputy County Commissioner Elijah Omoyo who confirmed their arrest said the four clobbered their uncle, David Simiyu Wanyama, until he breath his last after defying their decision to suspend the making of their dad's coffin.
The four, Gilbert Wafula, 27, Makokha Khaemba (47 years), Andrew Nyongesa, 52 and Michael Wamalwa,17, are said to have told their uncle to stop the process of making of the coffin because they wanted their father's burial delayed.
But Simiyu defied the directive and made the coffin as he had another order in the neighbourhood.
The four descended on their uncle and senselessly beat him to death.
Trans Nzoia police commander Samson Ole Kine confirmed the incident and said police have began investigations and the four will be arraigned in court to answer murder charges.
He said it is unfortunate that the four decided to take the law unto their own hands, a development that led to loss of life. Ole Kine told residents to solve civil differences at family level.
The incident happened three weeks after a man was almost killed after being attacked by his brother in the same village.
