The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has been challenged to put in place mechanisms that will ensure the repeat October 26 Presidential elections are free and fair.
Netherlands ambassador to Kenya Frans Makken has further expressed optimism that the elections will be peaceful.
Addressing the press in Eldoret town, Thursday, Makken reiterated the need for IEBC to conduct a credible process that its outcome will be acceptable to all the parties involved.
"We have a very clear stand as diplomatic community that we wish for a free, fair, credible and peaceful election," noted Amb. Makken.
He also pointed out that the envoys in the country have no preferred candidate for the repeat polls.
"This elections are completely for Kenyans, we are quests in this country. We take no sides and we have no preferred candidate," added the ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
He was in Eldoret town for the ongoing University of Eldoret (UoE) Agri-Bussiness trade fair.
