Wiper Leader and former vice president Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has distanced himself from claims that he has no political stand just like a watermelon.

Speaking on Churchill live during the Sunday show, Kalonzo indicated that he has no problem with those who call him a watermelon and he has always defended the constitution in his deeds.

The celebrated comedian asked him: "So how do you take it when people say these bad things about you, they doubt you, the watermelon stories? In response, he indicated that he has never engaged in divisive politics. 

“I bless them (those calling him watermelon) because these are my friends.” He also assured the nation that he has been fighting for their rights as enshrined in the constitution. 

“I want to assure Kenyans that I have never been a watermelon I have always been for the constitution,” he added: 

“And remember somebody like me was given all kinds of name, do not give up even if you are called a watermelon when you are not.”
