Speaking during a press briefing in Nairobi Monday afternoon, party leader Ken Lusaka announced this after the party’s National Executive Committee meeting.

The move comes a day after it was rumoured that rebel ODM legislators led by Ababu Namwamba and John Waluke held talks with Mr Lusaka, who is also the Bungoma County Governor.

The party, which was led by Eugene Wamalwa before he took the Water CS post has majority members in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia County assemblies.

Other parties that will dissolve to join the new outfit that is Jubilee Alliance Party include the National Alliance, United Republican Party, Alliance Party of Kenya, Ford People, CCU, GNU, Democratic Party and the United Republican Party.

New Ford Kenya’s move comes a few months after Lusaka insisted that the party won’t be dissolved to join Jubilee, saying it was strong on its own.

“New Ford Kenya is intact, it has not and will not be dissolved. Contrary to propaganda by detractors, we have plans to make the party more strong, vibrant and visible at the grassroots level in all the 47 counties in the country ahead of the general elections next year,” Lusaka told cheering delegates in April.
