Motorists will have to dig deeper into their pockets as fuel prices unleashed by the Energy Regulatory Commission on Monday points at increased prices.

In the new prices, diesel will be sold at an increased price of  Sh0.05 per litre, while Kerosene will go up by Sh3.45 per litre.

Kibera motorists have expressed their views concerning the new prices as residents in Nairobi will pay Sh94.94 for Super Petrol. The motorists said the price is too high.

"This is a peak season for us since many children are at home and will want to travel. It will not make sense to them if we tell them to double their fare since fuel prices have gone up," said driver Peter Mutunda.

Another driver, Patrick Ndung'u said this is a great challenge to motorists since they will need to dig dipper into their pockets more.

"At such a time, we should be making money to feed our families during the December holidays. This news means we will not make much profit as we wanted," he said.

Priscilla Nanjala said the ERC should not increase the prices by such a huge margin since motorists were not prepared for such increment.
