A group of IDPs has emerged in Kisii County claiming that the government has ignored and refused to compensate them.

Mwamoserigwa group has been camping at the Kisii County commissioners office on grounds claiming they have not received any money after President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Before August 8 polls, Uhuru gave out Sh358 million to Kisii county IDPs and Sh470 million to Nyamira County to settle and compensate them following the 2007/2008 post-election violence.

The group's chairperson Paul Kirochi said that their patron Evans Misati promised to help them but to date, nothing has been done.

“Our patron is not picking calls yet he is the one who should guide us on the compensation," Kerochi said.

He called on the county commissioner's office to intervene and help them get their share.

"National government officials should address our grievances and ensure we get our share," he added.
