There is no leadership vacuum at the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA), State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu has said.
His remarks follows the delay by the newly appointed managing director Jonny Andersen in assuming office.
Andersen was appointed four months ago by KAA board of directors and on Sunday, Esipisu said Andersen has already been granted with a Kenyan work permit.
According to citizentv.co.ke, the Norwegian will now take over from mid-November to replace Yatich Kangogo who was sacked over corruption claims.
"In respect of appointment of Johnny Andersen as MD of KAA, he will take office mid-November, a timing that all parties are happy with," said Esipisu on Twitter.
“Mr Anderson had initially asked for a six-month period to wind up his other engagements. He visited Nairobi last week for two days for discussions with the board of KAA, as part of his induction,” he said.
“The work permit for Mr Anderson has been granted and issued. He will take office in mid-November, the timing that is appropriate,” he added.
