The latest CeC nominee to be ratified by the Kisumu County Assembly on Monday took the oath of office.
Dixon Obungu took the oath as the Lands, Physical Planning, Housing, and Urban Development executive committee member.
The oath was administered by Principal Magistrate Joan Wambilyanga at Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o’s office.
Obungu takes over from Nerry Achar who was re-assigned the Finance docket after the initial nominee Robert Ouko tendered his resignation to the Governor.
Speaking after his inauguration, the new CeC pledged his allegiance to Kisumu residents whom he promised to serve diligently during his tenure.
Present at the ceremony was Governor Nyong’o who exuded optimism and confidence in his new CEC’s ability to run the Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development docket.
Obungu joins Cabinet members; Gilchrist Okuom (Agriculture), Achi Ojany (Tourism), Richard Ogendo (Economic Planning and Development), Salmon Orimba (Environment Water Irrigation and Natural Resources).
Others are Rosemary Obara (Health and Sanitation), John Obiero (Education ICT and Human Resource Development), Alice Moraa (Business, Energy and Industry), Thomas Owiti (Public Works, Roads and Transport) and Nerry Achar (Finance).
