New Makongeni OCS Samuel Khisa has been lauded by Thika-Makongeni Community policing chairman Paul Njomo for the arrest of 18 'aliens' in the area as his task began on Monday.
Njomo said that it was a good beginning by the newly posted officer after the police forces reshuffle in the area, which left Makongeni police station with 15 new officers from different stations.
The reshuffle was done to regain the confidence in the police among the public after the protests and chaos that had been experienced in the area ealier last month.
According to Njomo, the officers led by their commander have shown a perfect beginning of the new base and the community policing initiative will be the ready to support them in their work towards securing the area and the residents of Makongeni area.
He added that he is sure the public will be impressed by the new officers’ job in the area as they are trying to build the good relations and bonds between the public and the new officers that have been posted there this month.
He called on the residents to coopearte and support Khisa and his junior officers to ensure they are confident in their work.
“Let’s support him and his officers in their new job and am sure they will bring back the confidence in the security sector that has been lacking,” Njomo said.
Njomo has urged the officers to maintain the good work as the public wants non-corrupted officers in the area considering those moved to other stations have been alleged to have been involved in corruption.
He was speaking in the area when he met the public in Coconut Grill hotel to deliberate on the security issues.
