Recently appointed Moi University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Isaac Kosgey has challenged staff at the university to offer the best of their service in order to reclaim its lost glory.
The new VC also urged the staff to maintain high ethical standards while on duty.
“I want us to create a University where all of us belong. We are going to institute a lot of changes and if you find us running, please join us, otherwise, you will not be with me in Moi University,” said Prof. Kosgey after commissioning the renovated walkway leading to the main administration block at the main campus, Tuesday.
“Whatever resources you are entrusted with, use them prudently. Do the right thing. If you don’t do things right, I want to assure you that you won’t be here with me," he added.
The VC applauded his predecessor Prof. Laban Ayiro for initiating several development projects at the university among them the walkway he commissioned.
He said the new-look walkway lights up the image of the University, noting that he has initiated more projects that will turn around the institution’s outlook including fixing of leaking roofs in lecture halls, murraming of roads at main campus and construction of kitchenettes for students who wish to cook.
Acknowledging the dwindling number of students and the growing competition in the university education sector, Prof. Kosgey called for investment in alternative projects to generate revenue for the institution.
