Mombasa county government has unveiled yet another “no-joke” county Inspectorate. He was handed this mandate by former boss, Nahid Musa who decided to leave office due to his age limit. In his speech as he handed over the office, Musa said, "Age has caught up with me and I have other things to do.”

Mohamed Amir who takes over from Nahid, declared that he will deliver all Joho’s visions to keep Mombasa County clean. In his speech after being handed the office, he said, "I am very familiar with this kind of environment. I will serve the people of Mombasa with all my ability to the best I can. I’m here to ensure public safety and security."

He promised to deal appropriately with the garbage menace, which has been given government officials nightmares. He pleaded with the residents of Mombasa County to be patient with Governor Hassan Joho's administration as they will be working closely with the health department to ensure we fulfill their mandate.

More so, he promised to keep the city safe, not only to the residents but also to the tourists from other countries. This comes after a move by the County Governor in the relocating the street urchins. He further noted that the governor has had to dig deep into his own pockets to fund the relocation and upkeep of the street families, just to keep the city clean.

The new county inspectorate boss, Mohamed Amir made cleaning the city’s garbage menace his top priority in his term in office.
