Speaking in Nakuru town on uesday afternoon, Ruto said that it will be easier for deputy president to ascend to power in 2022 after President Uhuru clears his term.

He said the move to merge URP and TNA will enhance unity within the party and cultivate more trust among the Kikuyu and the Kalenjin communities ahead of 2022 when Deputy President William Rutto will be ready to contest for the country’s top seat.

He added that it will be much easier to sell the new party to Kenyans and make it a national outfit as opposed to working under two different parties.

“William Ruto is preparing to take over the reins of power in 2022 after Uhuru vacates office and forming the Jubilee Party is just one among the many initiatives which will be done to hold the Jubilee family together until 2032 when Ruto will be retiring as president,” said Rutto.

He added that a lot has been done to achieve the kind of peace and trust being enjoyed among jubilee members and said that working under one roof will enable then to talk in one voice and champion a common course.

“We are one people in Jubilee and I don’t see why we cannot work under one uniting party as opposed to working under two different parties,” he said.
