The just launched Kiambu county Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries ministry strategic plan, which is expected to support the sector will increase crop productivity, executive Monicah Waiganjo has said.

Governor William Kabogo and the CeC led the Kiambu people in the launch, which took place in Wangige market of Kiambu County on Wednesday, with numerous persons attending the event.

In the same event, the selected farmers and agriculture-oriented groups received the Sh21 worth greenhouses, which have had been disbursed since Tuesday.

Kabogo said that Agriculture has in the recent days dominated in Kiambu, as 80 percent of the public have ventured into both small and large scale farming, which has raised the productivity in some areas, thus providing for the residents.

He added that the sector has also supported the county in terms of employment, food security and income generation, helping reduce the amount of money used in the supply of relief food, and also increased the income of the county government.

Kabogo has however vowed to support and create better environment for the Agriculture, Livestock and fisheries, which he says has proved yielding, and believes the plan will help a lot.

His sentiments were echoed by the Waiganjo, who said that she is delighted by the efforts by the governor to deliver his manifesto to the public, and she is sure they will perform as per the strategic plans.
