A new survey has shown that Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero would retain their seats if elections were held today.
The survey by Trends and Insights for Africa that was conducted between July 28 and 31 shows that Governor Mutua has 81 per cent support compared to Senator Johnson Muthama's 8 per cent.
Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala stood at 3 per cent in the Machakos governor's race while Wavinya Ndeti has 5 per cent popularity.
Meanwhile, Nairobi County would vote for Dr Kidero as governor by 36 per cent, Mike Sonko as senator by 39 per cent while Esther Passaris, with 28 per cent popularity, would be voted at the woman representative.
49 per cent of the population polled said they would vote Mr Waititu, a close rival of Mr Kabogo while only 22 per cent said they would vote to re-elect Mr Kabogo.
