A new survey has indicated that Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma would retain his seat if elections were held today.

The research conducted by Infotrack reseach company shows that Ranguma would defeat his rival Kisumu senator Anyang’ Nyong’o in the Kisumu gubernatorial race.

According to the poll, Ranguma who seems to be enjoying a lot of support in the region would garner 58.7 per cent of the total votes cast. 

Nyong’o who is eyeing the governor’s seat would come second with 8.7 per cent votes.

In the third position would be Hezron Mc’Obewa with 6.8 per cent support from the voters while Kisumu deputy governor Ruth Odinga and Chris Ondiek would come in the fourth and fifth positions with -3 per cent, and -1 per cent respectively.

However, those yet to decide who to vote for amount to 25.4 per cent.

A sample of 1,000 respondents were interviewed from the county with a margin error of -/+ 3.1 at 95 per cent degree of confidence.

 The survey was carried out between March 31 and April 2, 2017.
