In recent days, maize flour in Kenya has become the most sought after essential commodity after unprecedented scarcity of Kenya's staple food hit the country.
The government also chipped in by offering subsidized maize retailing at Sh90 per two Kg bag to cushion Kenyans from the pangs of hunger but the plan didn't last long leaving many criticizing the move.
However, Kenyans may now smile again after online retailer Jumia announced that between July 3 and 9 the will offer a 50 percent discount on the 2Kg packet of maize flour on their platform.
This means a 2kg bag will retail at Sh45.
The offer, which is a partnership between the online retailer and Tuskys Supermarket, will be part of activities to mark the Jumia Anniversary
Week, Jumia Vendor relations manager Benard Kimutai has confirmed.
