Kiambu County Department of Sports and Youths has deployed sports and youths officers in all the 11 sub-counties.
Thika sub-county Youth Officer Patrick Muema and his Sports counterpart Margaret Gati took office on Thursday at Thika town hall where they promised to go round the sub-county introducing themselves to the youths and other stakeholders.
The officers have now called upon the youths and sports men and women to engage them in order to be able to serve them better.
"Our deployment here at the sub-county level means that youths and sportsmen can now get better services and we are ready to serve them to the best of our ability," said Muema.
Muema said his first duty will be to encourage youths to apply for the county sponsored Biashara Fund which is yet to be embraced by many youths in the sub-county.
Gati on her part promised to start various sporting initiatives with an aim of nurturing talents among young people.
"Sports is now a career and the county government is committed to nurturing young talents through various initiatives. That is the agenda that I will be spearheading here," Gati said.
