Former Kenya Premier League champions Tusker FC new head coach Sam Timbe has exuded confidence that the Brewers will bag the coveted title during the 2018 season.

The veteran Ugandan coach however admitted that the Kenyan league is very competitive and highly unpredictable but underscored the ability of his new signings to live up to expectations and reclaim the title they last won in 2016.

"Our aim is to win the league this season, but it is not going to be a walk in the park.We are aware that several teams are in it,but I believe the most consistent team will carry the day," Timbe said.

"So far, the new signings are doing well, they have impressed me in training but every player has to show what he has.We have to build a stronger team that can withstand the storm and sail through to victory,"he added.

The former Sofapaka tactician was appointed to take charge of the Brewers following a disastrous 2017 campaign under compatriot George Nsimbe that saw the club surrender both the league title and the GOtv shield. Nsimbe was consequently sacked.

Timbe becomes the third Ugandan in a row to manage Tusker after Nsimbe and Paul Nkatah who led the team to the double victory in 2016 before he resigned to manage Bandari FC.
