The National Police Service Commission has shelved its plan to slash salaries of graduate police officers.The commission says officers whose pay was deducted will be reimbursed through vouchers.
The commission has refuted claims that it was trying to punish graduate officers as special salaries to graduate constables in the National Police Service is legal protected and provided for in the policy guidelines.
The commission in a statement says an audit of the police payroll will be conducted to identify, isolate and remove those officers who don’t qualify for such payments.
The affected officers have been advised to submit to the Commission through the Inspector General, their Degree Certificates, Transcripts and Testimonial for verification processing and approval.
