The county government of Uasin Gishu is gradually digitizing most of its operations in a bid to improve service delivery.
As a result, the Department of Information Communications Technology (ICT) will provide mobile kits that will help identify the authenticity of business permits through a verification application.
The App will be able to scan the business permits and licenses and identify whether they are authentic or not.
This comes after the period for license renewal given by the county government lapsed with the governor Jackson Mandago-led administration now embarking on an exercise to ensure compliance as well as the authenticity of licenses acquired.
On Friday, a number of county staff drawn from various departments were taken through a training aimed at equipping them with the necessary skills to guide them as they undertake the task.
The compliance exercise is expected to kick off on Monday, May 7th.
Speaking while opening the training, County Executive in charge of Finance and Economic Planning Julius Rutto asked the selected team to have a persuasive approach as they deal with the public during the exercise.
“Our aim as a county is to maximize the revenue we collect. This will help finance the projects across the county besides the equitable share given to us by the national government,” he said.
