[Photo: Nairobi News]A newspaper vendor has given an account before a Nairobi court how former Kabete MP George Muchai was killed in cold blood on February 7, 2015, at Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi.Ronald Siango told the High Court that the gunman shot the MP his driver and bodyguards moments after he sold him newspapers."I saw the door of the white car open and a man came out brandishing a gun and shot at the driver and the other occupants of the vehicle. He went back to the white car and it sped off," Siango told the court on Thursday as quoted by the Nation. He added: "I had just walked to the window of Mr Muchai’s driver to hand him the newspapers as usual before a white car stopped in front of the vehicle and blocked it."Siango said the car, which blocked Mr Muchai’s vehicle, almost ran over his foot as the driver sped off.The witness said the shooting incident lasted for a short time and he did not have a good look at the man who was shooting. Siango said he ran away from the scene after the incident and returned much later, the Nation adds.In the meantime, the judge rejected a plea by the suspects that he releases them on bond. The judge said the State has given compelling reasons to warrant them remain in custody until the case is heard and determined. Those charged with murdering Muchai are Margaret Wachuiri, Raphael Gachii, alias Butcher, Kimani Anyonyi alias Musti and Stephen Lipapo, alias Chokore. Others are Erick Isabwa alias chairman, Jane Kamau, alias Shiro and Simon Gichamba. The seven are accused of killing the former MP, his bodyguards Samuel Kalikia and Samuel Matanta, and driver Stephen Wambugu. The case was adjourned to December 13.
