Kenyatta said people living with disabilities especially children need support from everyone hence should not be discriminated.

Speaking while commissioning a vocational training workshop for disabled children at Misyani Primary School in Kangundo, Machakos County on Tuesday, Kenyatta said the integration will bring forth interaction of normal children and the disabled ones.

"Full integration of the disabled children should be achieved in all schools countrywide," Kenyatta noted.

She said the workshop will equip children with disabilities life skills and knowledge to improve their living standards.

Kenyatta said the fund will furnish the centre with furniture and other necessary equipment.

“We built this workshop for the children to acquire life skills, they will not be here forever. This vocational workshop will help develop their talents and various skills to ease their integration into the society once they exit from this institution," Kenyatta said.

She said the project was the tenth to be commissioned by the fund in the Eastern Region.

Kenyatta said the fund is in the process of implementing a total of 72 projects countrywide, 58 of which shall have been commissioned by end of this week.

She was accompanied by the funds CEO Joyce Mutua and trustee Professor Julia Ojiambo.
