Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a has criticised and rubbished National Super Alliance (NASA's) threat to boycott the August 8 polls.
The MP claims that NASA has sensed defeat and is looking for excuses to avoid participating in the August election.
Speaking to journalists in Thika on Wednesday, the MP said that Jubilee will not be scared by NASA’s threat to boycott the election.
“NASA’s threat to boycott the August 8 polls is a coward act that will not intimidate us (Jubilee),” she said.
The MP accused NASA of plotting to cause tension in the country through reckless threats.“These people (NASA) want to cause fear among Kenyans for their own selfish interests,” she claimed.On Tuesday NASA threatened to boycott the August 8 polls if presidential results will not be announced at the constituency tallying centre.The Alliance said that a court ruling allowing presidential results to be tallied and announced at the constituency should not be overturned.NASA threatened to boycott the polls if the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) appeal to have the court ruling overturned is granted.The Alliance warned IEBC against being swayed by some forces saying the electoral body has to be neutral for free, fair and credible polls.
