Thika MP Alice Nga’ng’a has called for enhanced security in the constituency this festive season.

Speaking to journalists at Thika town on Saturday, the lawmaker asked the police to work hand in hand with the public so as to boost security.

The MP said that security is the most important thing that should be provided at all times.

Ng’ang’a said that he has been receiving complaints from a section of residents and businessmen over the rising in criminal activities.

“Law enforcers across Thika should beef up security this time of festivities and make sure that residents safety is guaranteed," she said.

 The MP said that increased police patrols and surveillance would keep criminals away. The Thika legislator also asked the law enforcers to educate residents on security measures.

She said that there is need for residents to be sensitized on security operations noting that they can help in taming crime.

Meanwhile, Thika West OCPD Erastus Muthamia has urged residents to volunteer information to the police for ease of tracking down suspected criminals.

The OCPD while speaking at Thika town on Friday asked residents to feel free and give information on the whereabouts of criminals.

He said that police have stepped up the fight against crime this festive season.
