Thika MP Alice Ng’ang’a has faulted Kiambu Governor William Kabogo following the commissioning of the expansion of Kenyatta Highway.
The commissioning comes two years after area residents demonstrated calling for its rehabilitation.
Ng’ang’a, who was speaking from her office on Wednesday morning said the county government is fond of snatching all the CDF initiated projects and commissioning them.
She said that the road has been in a deplorable state for two years leading to Public Service Vehicle (PSV) drivers fleeing from it.
“They refused to renovate the road and last month we joined hands with Hospital Ward MCA to rehabilitate the road. They (county government) have taken over and commissioned my construction just to make news and I will not let anyone take over,” Ng’ang’a said.
She added, “I cannot leave what I have started for someone trying to force his way here. Let’s not lie to the people that we are using their funds while we are doing nothing with the money,” the legislator added.
Kabogo has however refuted the claims saying that the only thing the leader did was ensure the road was watered and gravelled but he is tarmacking it.
