Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu promised to make Kitui a food secure county and the former Lands CS has started reaching out to donors and partners to fulfill her pledges to the electorate. Mama Ngilu has prioritized food and water provision.
On Tuesday 29th, Governor Ngilu had a meeting with Kenya Red Cross secretary general Abass Gullet. The Nairobi meeting was aimed at identifying potential partnership areas.
Her communication team has revealed that the Narc party leader will provide certified seeds to farmers, rehabilitate 107 boreholes, give diesel to ploughing tractors, revive several health facilities and offer 500 households a three months cash transfer worth Sh3,000 monthly per household.
Charity Ngilu is among the three maiden female governors. She is also the only female governor associated to National Super Alliance (NASA). Others are Bomet’s Joyce Laboso who dethroned NASA principal Isaac Ruto and Kirinyaga’s Ann Waiguru who triumphed over Martha Karua. They have booth vowed to deliver as they raid the male dominated leadership slots.
