Kitui governor Charity Ngilu has accused the Jubilee administration of running down the country's economy.

Speaking on Monday, the outspoken politician claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are using state resources to run their well-oiled campaigns.

“Kenyans are suffering the effects of a failing economy yet we are seeing Jubilee top leaders extravagantly spending state resources daily on their campaigns to retain power,” she stated.

She called on the Ukambani region to boycott the upcoming presidential repeat polls, urging Kenyans to continue agitating for electoral reforms within IEBC.

“Our candidates Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka, who were the contenders withdrew from the repeat presidential race, we therefore have no business in that election because we do not have a candidate,” she said.

The County chief further condemned police brutality and use of excessive force by security agents on anti-IEBC protesters.
