Speaking in African Inland Church (AIC) at Mutonguni in Kitui West on Sunday, Ngilu said it is time for leaders to work on Uhuru's Big Four agenda and stop engaging in politics.

She said the leaders who have been campaigning are likely to hinder the current regime from achieving its dreams in the next five years.

“I want to tell them to stop campaigns for 2022. They are currently occupying big seats and they should tell us what they are doing about them to change the lifestyle of Kenyans. If you can’t transform lives from where you sit, don’t transverse counties drumming support in 2022,” Ngilu said.

This comes after the controversial Nyeri MP Ngunjiri Wambugu also urged leaders to stop politicking ahead of the presidential race in 2022.

Wambugu argued that the leaders were being disrespectful to the president.

“It's very very disrespectful for some of my colleagues to campaign for Deputy President William Ruto for the 2022 presidential seat. I am watching them campaigning for him, how disrespectful they are to the president,” Wambugu said.
