Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has rubbished media reports that she has abandoned NASA leader Raila Odinga for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ngilu states that her statement that she will work with Uhuru Kenyatta’s government does not mean that she has left Raila.

Speaking to journalists in Kitui Town on Tuesday after attending the burial of the late Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze , the NARC governor who dumped President Uhuru Kenyatta after she was sacked as Lands Cabinet Secretary in 2015 said that she cannot be compromised to work with Jubilee again.

Ngilu said that she was betrayed by Uhuru’s administration during her short tenure as Lands CS.

Governor Ngilu said that the only relationship she will have with Jubilee is on development projects. She stated that as a county governor she will seek the national government support for projects and nothing else.

“I have not abandoned Raila or NASA as it has been reported in some sections of the media,” she said on Tuesday.

Ngilu said that she believes in Raila’s push for electoral reforms stating and she will support the NASA agenda.

The Kitui governor was quoted on Monday pledging to work with Uhuru Kenyatta’s government. Ngilu in a clip that has gone viral said that her agenda for development is similar to Jubilee’s government.

The governor in the clip said that she will reach out to President Kenyatta for support.  Ngilu was sacked as Lands CS in 2015 by Uhuru’s government after she was linked to graft scandals.

The NARC party  leader was however acquitted of the graft allegations before clinching the governor seat in the August 8 polls.

Ngilu has been pushing NASA’s agenda in the Ukambani region alongside her Makueni counterpart  Kivutha Kibwana.
