Narc Party leader Charity Ngilu move to support the National Super Alliance (NASA) will not have an impact on the opposition quest for numbers to unseat Jubilee government in the August polls, a political analyst has said.

Peter Ngure a Kiambu based political analyst and constitutional lawyer has said that Ngilu’s backing of NASA has little to celebrate about.

He notes that Ngilu does not have numbers that are needed to help NASA send Jubilee government packing.

“The only thing Ngilu is bringing to NASA is her political experience and not numbers,” he said in an interview on Wednesday.

Ngure observed that Ngilu’s Kitui backyard is already in NASA and that her role in the opposition will be to advise on new political tactics that will help opposition win the August polls.

He noted that Ngilu’s popularity in Ukambani has been overtaken by the likes of Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua.

Mr Ngure, however, said that Ngilu will be instrumental in helping NASA woo women votes in the August polls.

“The former Lands CS appeals with women and youths and this is a plus for NASA,” he stated.

Ngilu who is eyeing the Kitui gubernatorial seat on Tuesday announced that she will support NASA in the August 8 polls.

In a meeting with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) leader Wavinya Ndeti, Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana and People’ Trust Party leader Mutua Katuku at Ole Sereni hotel, Ngilu asked NASA leaders to endorse Kalonzo’s presidential bid.

The former CS said that Kalonzo is the best bet for NASA to send Uhuru packing.

According to sources, Ngilu will sign a pre-election pact with NASA in readiness for the August 8 polls.
