Former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu has exuded confidence that National Super Alliance (NASA) torchbearer Raila Amolo Odinga will beat President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto during the forthcoming general polls.
Ngilu compared the current leadership to the past regime of retired President Daniel Torotoich, which was unseated by former President Mwai Kibaki under the umbrella of the National Rainbow Coalition (NARC).
"The current Jubilee formation is the same KANU we beat in 2002. This time round, we will actually beat them much easier," she said.
The Ukambani legislator described President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto as "unthankful” after she was fired from her ministerial post.
The lawmaker, who spoke on Friday during a meeting at Machakos Golf Club, Ngilu said that Ruto and Uhuru dumped her despite her role to ensure that they rise to power after the last general elections.
"Jubilee banked on me during the 2013 election for the Ukambani vote only for them to pay me with a donkey's kick," she said.
The legislator has since shifted to NASA and assured the leaders of the opposition that she will rally the electorate behind Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) Leader Raila Amolo ahead of August.
