Ngilu said they discussed the push for electoral reforms and issues on the national unity.

She said their discussion focused on  devolution and the need for the State to increase budgetary allocations to counties.

In an interview with a local daily on Friday, Ngilu said she told Raila to push President Uhuru Kenyatta to speed up the reconciliation process after the two top leaders agreed to reconcile the country.

"My meeting with the former Prime Minister despite being a courtesy call saw us discuss a raft of issues among them the  country's unity and reconciliation," Ngilu said.

Ngilu said Raila and Uhuru have the interests of the country at heart in their push for reconciliation.

"We must support them as they push to bring  Kenyans together," Ngilu said.

Ngilu urged Kenyans to stop linking Uhu-Raila handshake to the 2022 politics.

She said it is time for politicians, especially elected leaders to focus on service delivery.

Ngilu said 2022 succession politics will only derail realization of country's development.

Ngilu's meeting with Raila comes days after the former Prime Minister met with former presidents Mwai Kibaki and Daniel Arap Moi.
