Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has rubbished claims by Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi that she is out to frustrate Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2022 presidential bid.
Ngilu said Mulyungi’s claims are out of order and meant to cause rifts between her and the former Vice President.
She denied claims of having links with Jubilee politicians ahead of 2022.
Ngilu accused the MP of speculating malicious propaganda against her to gain political fame.
“It is unfortunate that Mulyungi who I respect so much can claim that I am out to scuttle Kalonzo’s 2022 plans,” Ngilu said.
The governor said she is 100 per cent behind Kalonzo’s 2022 presidential bid.
Ngilu asked Kamba locals to ignore Mulyungi and remain united ahead of 2022.
She said the community needs to remain together in order to win in 2022.
On Sunday, Mulyungi accused governor Ngilu of planning to sabotage Kalonzo’s 2022 bid.
He alleged that Ngilu is associating with Jubilee politicians pushing for Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
On Sunday, Mulyungi asked Kalonzo to be wary of governor Ngilu.
The Wiper MP claimed that Ngilu is not trustable since she is allegedly associating with Jubilee politicians.
Governor Ngilu is among Kamba politicians who endorsed Kalonzo's presidential bid last week at a meeting in Matungulu, Machakos county.
