Former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu has come out to narrate how she watched her close friend and ex-Kitui Mayor Martha Mwangangi killed during a protest in Kitui County.

Speaking while recording a statement after the incident, Ngilu stated that  Mwangangi was picked from the road side by the County truck and crashed to death.

“She was not even much onto the side of the road. I was the one on the road proper and she was walking on the outside. Still, the truck was able to fetch her from the sides, drag her onto the road and crush her," said Ngilu.

Ngilu was at the protest to calm down traders who were protesting the demolition of stalls at Kalundu Market.
