Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu is under sharp criticism from a section of locals for nominating an 'outsider' to head the finance docket.

Ngilu has nominated Mary Ndunge Nguli as the   County Executive Committee (CEC)  member for Finance.

Nguli who hails from Makueni county was the Finance  CEC in former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo's government.

A section of residents interviewed by Kituionline.com faults Ngilu for nominating Nguli.

The locals say that Ngilu's  move is fishy and want her to explain why she opted for the former Kiambu Finance CEC.

"Ngilu should explain to us why she nominated an outsider for such sensitive docket," a local said as quoted by Kituionline.com.

The locals say that there are professionals in Kitui who can handle the finance docket.

Ngilu on  Tuesday unveiled the list of 8 CECs for various dockets.

The nominated CECs will be vetted by the county assembly starting next week.

During her maiden address to the county assembly on Tuesday, Ngilu pleaded with  MCAs to work and help her fulfill the promises she made to residents.

The governor urged MCAs to put their political differences and affiliations aside and work for the people.
