Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has said that National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Amolo Odinga should be made a President of part of Kenya because he enjoys massive support.
According to The Star, Ngilu said that Raila garnered 8.5 million votes which is a clear indicator that he is the people’s president, adding that he deserves the seat. He was speaking in Kitui town on Monday where she asked supporters of the opposition to boycott the re-election exercise.
“The bulk of those who support Raila comprise the rest of the country outside regions where Uhuru and DP William Ruto come from. Raila should form a government and be the President of the rest of Kenya,” she said, as quoted by the Local daily.
The remarks of the governor come at a time when the opposition has maintained that it will not take part in the rerun.
According to the leaders backing Raila, who is contesting for his fourth time, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has proven beyond doubt that it cannot guarantee the nation a free and fair election.
