Ngilu claims that governor Malombe is allegedly spreading propaganda against her with intention of tainting her character ahead of the August 8 polls.

Addressing supporters at Mutomo shopping centre in Kitui on Thursday, Ngilu claimed that the governor Malombe has sensed defeat and is using propaganda to win sympathy.

The former Lands Cabinet Secretary (CS) said that Malombe is spreading claims that she abandoned some in Ukambani when she served as Water and Heath minister in previous government.

Ngilu said that her development track record when she served in government as Minister is clean and not questionable.

“Malombe should stop speculating false information and instead prepare himself for a tough battle on August 8,” she said as quoted by the Standard.

The Narc party leader said that Malombe has performed poorly as governor, adding that he stands no chance of re-election in the coming August 8 polls.

Ngilu said that the governor has not fulfilled the promises he made to residents in 2013.

The former Lands CS said that she will not be intimidated by Malombe’s tactics, promising to give him a run for his money on August 8.

Ngilu said that she has the numbers needed to send the Wiper governor packing. The former CS  is seeking the Kitui top seat on her Narc party.

Kitui senator David Musila is also in the race contesting as an independent candidate after losing the wiper ticket to Malombe in the nomination.

Malombe has dismissed Ngilu and Musila’s bid, saying they cannot offer alternative leadership. Governor Malombe further claims that Ngilu and Musila are too old for politics and should quit.
