Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has pleaded with the Kamba community not to be divided by politicians who she says are using the community’s name to negotiate for power with Jubilee.

Ngilu says that some politicians who lost in the recently concluded general election are being used by Jubilee to divide the community.

Addressing supporters in Kitui town on Sunday, Ngilu asked the community to remain united and shun political ‘brokers’.

Ngilu said that it shameful for some Kamba politicians to attend meetings with Jubilee and claim that the region is in support of Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.

“I want to tell Musila and his friends to stop causing rifts among the Kamba nation, they should join Jubilee themselves and stop forcing our people to vote for Uhuru Kenyatta,” she said as quoted by the People Daily.

Ngilu maintained that Ukambani will not be compromised to vote for UhuRuto in the repeat presidential election slated for October 17.

The former Lands Cabinet Secretary (CS) said that Jubilee government has not done anything for the community to demand votes.

A section of Ukambani poll losers has vowed to campaign for UhuRuto in the repeat presidential election.

On Monday, Machakos governor Alfred Mutua led a delegation of Kamba politicians and business professionals to State House in Nairobi where they pledged to campaign for Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is keen to get a huge share of the Kamba votes in the repeat presidential election.

Ukambani overwhelmingly voted for NASA in the recently concluded general election and the opposition is keen to maintain the numbers ahead of the repeat presidential election.
