Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to take stern action against state officers swindling taxpayers money through corruption.

Ngilu wants the President not to show any mercy to individual's and companies however powerful named in graft scandals.

Speaking to journalists in Kitui town on Saturday, the Governor said wanton graft being exposed in Uhuru's administration is worrying.

"The President must quickly act on people stealing and embezzling public resources if he is serious on achieving the big four development agenda," she said.

Governor Ngilu warned that wanton graft will derail the country's development agenda if not tamed.

The Kitui county boss asked investigative agencies to move with speed and ensure people linked to graft and found culpable for stealing public money are dealt with according to the law.

The Governor also asked Kenyans not to keep silent as their taxes are being swindled by some greedy state officers.

President Kenyatta's government is on the spot over massive alleged corruption scandals that have been exposed.

Kenyans are now questioning President Kenyatta's commitment to fighting graft after fresh Sh 9 billion scam was exposed at the National Youth Service (NYS).

The investigation into the alleged fresh theft at NYS is on top gear.

An investigation is also being conducted at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) over alleged loss of public money.

A similar investigation is being conducted at the Youth Fund and the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) over the alleged theft of taxpayer's money.
