Ngilu urged Kalonzo to come out and spearhead the community’s unity before the much anticipated 2022 polls.

Speaking to journalists in Kakamega County on Tuesday, Ngilu warned Kalonzo against pushing for his presidential bid before bringing the warring Kamba leaders together.

She said disunity among the community leaders and locals is likely to kill Kalonzo’s 2022 bid.

“My brother Kalonzo should quickly spearhead the Kamba unity by bring all warring leaders together so as to boost his 2022 chances,” Ngilu said.

Ngilu said Kalonzo is Ukambani’s choice for 2022 but warned that the same could backfire if he does not reach out to leaders considered as his nemesis.

The NARC party leader said Ukambani has a chance for top leadership in 2022.

Ngilu said the community has suffered for decades,  adding that Kalonzo could redeem the community in 2022.

She asked Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to work with Kalonzo in order to win in 2022.

“We must move as a united community if we want to ascend to State House in 2022,” Ngilu added.

Kalonzo’s 2022 bid hangs in balance as he battles disunity and discomfort among some Kamba leaders and locals.

Last week, a section of Kamba clergy threatened not to back Kalonzo’s 2022 bid.

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana was also quoted threatening to quit Kalonzo’s party.

Kibwana claimed that some politician's in Wiper are disrespecting some members who are committed in pushing for Kalonzo’s 2022 bid.

Kalonzo has maintained he is fit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 stating that nothing is going to stop his bid.
