Uasin Gishu Lands Executive Robert Ng'isirei has urged residents who have no land titles to present their details to the county government.
The executive says that a secretariat has been set up to collect details on lands which had not been captured in official records.
Speaking to journalists at his office on Monday, Ng'isirei said that the county is working with the national government to make sure that genuine land owners in the county are given land titles.
“We have set up secretariats to collect details from the residents whose information was not captured in the official records,” he said, adding that the issue of land conflict is serious in the county.
The executive noted high cases of land conflict in the county saying that they are engaging with the Lands Ministry and the National Lands Commission (NLC) to address the land issues.
He stated that issuance of title deeds to genuine land owners will address the conflicts.
Speaking at Ngeria Girls High School in Kapseret over the weekend, Deputy President William Ruto asked the Lands Ministry to hasten issuance of titles.
Ruto said the government was concerned with rising land conflicts across the country. He said that surveyors have been deployed across the country to help address the land conflicts.
The DP said that the government intends to issue over 600,000 land titles to farmers in North Rift counties.
