The Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Council has urged all Kenyans across the country to respect and accept the verdict that will be delivered by the Supreme Court Judges tomorrow Monday 20  November 2017 at the supreme court.

Judges at the High Court, led by Chief Justice David Maraga will give their final verdict on Monday following the recent presidential petition filed by former Kilome Member of Parliament Haron Mwau and others.

Speaking in Nairobi, the Chairman NGO Council, Stephen Cheboi called on Kenyans across all social status to remain calm even after the verdict.

“All Kenyans should be hopeful and confident that the supreme judges led by David Maraga will do the needful as they deliver their judgment. and always in the best interest of Kenya’s nation.  We, therefore, urge all Kenyans across the country to be patient and be ready to accept the verdict as it will be delivered by the judges.” Said Cheboi.

Cheboi also condemned the killings of Kenyans following the confrontation between the police and rioters in the wake of demonstration on the day the opposition leader Raila Odinga jetted back into the country from the United States.

“We strongly condemn killings as reported in some parts of Nairobi City County, we call for sobriety and calm and we ask leaders to intervene to ensure that Peace and harmony prevail among Kenyans.” Said the Chairman.

“All Kenyans should learn that we are one united people and there is great need to keep and maintain Peace among ourselves.” He continued.

He urged Kenyans to avoid engaging in any form of violence or actions that cause tensions or maiming of fellow Kenyans and further extended the call to the men in uniform to bring to book any person (group) of people engaged in such heinous acts of killings or destroying properties of other Kenyans.

Kenyans are anxiously anticipating the Supreme Court’s verdict on the petition filed against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win in the just concluded October 26 repeat polls.
